Navigating Learning Ensemble

Learning Ensemble is based on an extensive set of over 80 mental health “components”.  These components are experiential learning objects –  pieces of a puzzle that connect to create a deeper and more profound picture of an issue.  Learning Ensemble’s components speak to past injustices, current realities and future dreams.  Educators and learners can explore Learning Ensemble components in the following ways:  

• Module – by using the higher module-level Takeaways (Learning Objectives), Learning Lens, and Assessment exercises to ground learning in the broader module context.

• Unit – browse specific relevant teaching units by exploring the right hand unit menu in each module.  This links to the following unit-specific sections: Takeaways (Learning Objectives), Evaluating the Components, Learning Lens, and Components in Context. Component Evaluation Exercises offer options for collaborative, individual, guided learning, or graded assessment. Learning Ensemble unit-level supports also include background content for situating student exercises, giving a short lecture, and student reading.

• Learning EnsembleSearch [link]– Learning Ensemble has a faceted search engine that enables site visitors to look under topic or issue, type of resource, teaching method, and timing. Instructors can tailor their search to find, for example, Learning Ensemble material on empowerment that will fit into a 50-minute class and include a short video, a discussion, and a written reflection.  Your search will direct you to units that best meet your teaching needs.
